Late Queen’s out of character remark about Meghan Markle one month before death
The late Queen Elizabeth made a stern one word remark about her grandson Prince Harry’s wife which caused quite the stir during an event.
It’s reported that “everybody’s eyebrows hit the ceiling” when the carefully spoken late Queen made a jaw-dropping comment about Meghan Markle. Her usual politeness and grace was paused when she made the startling statement in a seemingly out of character comment.
The monarch reportedly called her granddaughter-in-law “evil” during a drinks reception at Balmoral.
A source told The Spectator that the monarch made the comment just a month before her death in August 2022, alleging that “everybody’s eyebrows hit the ceiling”.
The late Queen was said to be unhappy about her grandson, Prince Harry, moving away to California with Meghan, stepping away from his royal duties.
The pair stepped down as senior royals in 2020 when they departed for America. Despite keeping their Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles, they are no longer addressed as his or her royal highness. Harry also gave up his military titles.
The inside source close to the family said: “It was out of character for the Queen to use such a word as ‘evil’ to describe Meghan, but she saw straight through her. It was a startling sentence to hear from the most forgiving woman on earth,
“At the drinks before the dinner, a small group were talking to the monarch and she explained that Harry meeting Meghan had become a complete catastrophe and described her as evil.
“By this point, we all knew the Queen’s health was in decline and she had months left, she seemed regretful about how things had panned out.”
