‘Tens of millions of dollars’: Alleged bidding war for Meghan Markle’s memoir as book publishers hope for Spare 2.0
Meghan Markle is reportedly being offered eye-watering contracts to publish her own tell-all memoir about her time in the royal family following the success of Prince Harry’s book Spare.

Meghan Markle has a “remarkable story” to tell about her time with the Royal Family and is reportedly courting offers in the “tens of millions” to write a tell-all book.
The Duchess of Sussex has faced relentless speculation she could be penning her own memoir following the blockbuster success of her husband Prince Harry’s book Spare.
Harry’s book broke all-time sales records for a non-fiction title upon its release in January 2023 and conservatively netted the Duke of Sussex at least $20 million.
According to a publishing insider, Markle is at the centre of a bidding war to secure the Duchess of Sussex’s memoir.

“The word in publishing circles is that everyone’s mad to land Meghan’s memoirs and the numbers being thrown around are ridiculously high,” an insider told Closer magazine on Monday.
“We’re talking tens of millions for her authorised biography – it’s going to get to the point where she can’t say no.”
Insiders suspect Meghan could “go nuclear” against the royal family in the book and humiliate senior royals like King Charles, Queen Camilla and the Prince and Princess of Wales.
“Love her or hate her, there’s no denying that she has an insight into the royals that no one else can share,” the Closer insider warned.

The update comes as Meghan, 42, battles weeks of negative publicity about her alleged behaviour towards former staffers at the Sussexes’ Archewell production company and charity.
The Duchess of Sussex has been at the centre of a stream of allegations she “terrorises” her staff following a controversial expose published by industry bible The Hollywood Reporter earlier this month.
That report, which cited several unnamed former staffers of Meghan and her husband Prince Harry, likened the former working royal to a “dictator in heels” and claimed to expose a culture of fear, indecisiveness and unprofessional behaviour inside the couple’s Archewell company.
In a new article for The Sunday Times, Daily Beast editor Tom Sykes recounted more allegations from former staff members and courtiers who say they were mistreated by Meghan.
“I witnessed people being chewed up in person and over the phone and made to feel like s***,” one former Sussex staffer told Mr Sykes.
