According to the publication, when asked if was excited to be staying up so late, Irwin told them: “I just came straight in from catching crocodiles up north.”
It was then that the star detailed his brush with death: “I just got my head smashed into a tree.
“I was on a croc’s head, it was a big make-up job but I’m here, I’m excited and we are pumped and I get to do it with one of my best mates, which is awesome.
Irwin did not go into further detail about his injuries but appeared in good spirits as he kept his six million

His sister Bindi, 26, was one of the first to reply, telling him: “The best! The entire croc trip team is cheering for you back here on the Steve Irwin Wildlife Reserve. We can’t wait! Super proud of you!”
Irwin had said it had been a “night to remember” despite missing out on the Gold Logie for Most Popular Personality on Australian Television.
He had been tipped as a favorite to take home the gong, while also being nominated for the Bert Newton Award for Most Popular Presenter.
