Real reason Kate Middleton releases photos of children in specific way
The Princess of Wales is a keen photographer and has released a number of stunning images of her young family over the years – but she has a very good reason for doing so

The Princess of Wales is a passionate photographer and has delighted Royal fans over the years by sharing stunning photos of her adorable family to mark significant occasions, such as birthdays and Christmas. While these pictures bring immense joy to Royal enthusiasts, Kate has a hidden reason for taking these images herself – it’s all about safeguarding her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

The Telegraph’s Royal editor Camilla Tominey reveals that Kate publicly releases pictures of her trio to “help keep paparazzi at a distance”. She previously told the Express: “The paparazzi – there’s no market anymore because the Princess comes out with her own family photos and they’re far more valuable to the press than images taken at a long lens.”

“Of course there still is, and always will be, a place for experienced photographers and women to capture the big Royal moments. However, it has always been these more candid camera shots that the public has craved. When it comes to seeing the ‘real’ royals behind their public personas, the Princess is fast becoming the monarchy’s leading chronicler of modern Royal life.”

Kate’s knack for photography has been widely recognised, with experts often lauding the Princess for her skills behind the lens. Notably, Queen Camilla enlisted Kate to capture the cover photos for her 2022 profile in Country Life magazine.

“She immediately replied, ‘Oh I’d quite like Catherine to do it.’ I spent the next three or four minutes desperately racking my brain trying to think of a professional photographer called Catherine,” editor Mark Hedges later shared in a statement. “Then suddenly I grasped what she meant – one of the most amazing things that could happen. I found it one of the easier things to nod my head at.”

Earlier this year, Kate made waves with a candid snapshot she shared in honour of Father’s Day. It depicted William with his arms around their children as they gazed out to sea. Days later, she unveiled another striking image, this time to celebrate William’s 42nd birthday.

Considerably more candid than the pictures usually shared by the royals, it showed the Prince leaping from a sand dune, hand-in-hand with the kids. “Happy birthday Papa, we all love you so much! Cx,” Princess Kate captioned the fun snapshot.
