Prince William’s ally slams Harry with savage two-word insult over ‘part-time’ royal role

Harry has had a tense relationship with the Prince of Wales since moving to the United States, and a pal of William has now slammed rumours of his desire for a “part-time” royal role

Prince Harry sounds like a “broken record” over his rumoured wish for a part-time royal role and he is “not wanted”, according to an ally of Prince William.

The brothers have had a fractious relationship since Harry moved to the United States and has been regularly critical of the Royal Family in the American media.

William and Harry have not spoken for months and currently have no contact, choosing to stay apart from each other even when in the same room last month for their uncle Lord Fellows’ funeral in Norfolk.
The Duke of Sussex is focused on “making a success of his life” in the United States and maintains he is happy with his decision on choosing to quit his royal life, sources close to the him suggest. But it remains that he would be open to taking up a temporary role within the family to “help out” if he was asked to do so by the King.
And now one ally of the Prince of Wales has reportedly slammed Harry, calling him “a broken record” who was “pretending to not get the message that he is not wanted”. The source told the Daily Beast: “Harry is a broken record at this stage. We all know he would love to be given a part-time royal role, but Queen Elizabeth was very clear that he couldn’t be half in and half out.

“Nothing has changed. Whoever is promulgating these ludicrous theories on Harry’s behalf is simply pretending to not get the message that he is not wanted.”

Friends of Harry say he is aware of his brother’s feelings on the matter after The Mirror previously revealed Prince William suggested there was “zero chance” he would be welcomed back into the fold after penning his explosive memoir, Spare. Harry, 39, took aim at close members of his family and accused the King and Prince William of being desperate to leave the royal family if they could.

Meanwhile, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams believes many in the British public would be left “appalled if Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attend future royal events but there would be a mixed reaction.

He said that Harry commencing royal duties could increase The Firm’s popularity in Commonwealth countries and people between the ages of 18 and 24 as these groups are “disillusioned with the monarchy” and they “might warm to it more”. But he warned: “Most supporters of the monarchy would be appalled at the prospect of the Sussexes appearing at Trooping the Colour or at Christmas. Their presence would surely detract from the serious work the royal family does throughout the year too.”
