Patrick Mahomes named his Mount Rushmore of quarterbacks across NFL history, with one obvious choice on the list.

Patrick Mahomes is widely considered one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. The Kansas City Chiefs QB has done legendary things in the NFL.

Mahomes is yet to turn 30 years old, but has been to six AFC championship games and five Super Bowls in his career, winning three rings in the process.

For many, Mahomes is the successor to Tom Brady, who dominated the NFL for over 20 years. And as things stand, Mahomes has achieved half the success Brady has, with a lot left in the tank.

Mahomes’ ambition will be to become the greatest quarterback of all time. But as of now, who does he have on his QB Mount Rushmore?

Patrick Mahomes revealed his Mount Rushmore of quarterbacks last year in a conversation with Jason and Travis Kelce.

He named Tom Brady right out the gate. After this, he mentioned Joe Montana, Peyton Manning, and John Elway, despite considering Dan Marino as an option.

“I mean obviously Tom (Brady) is on there. Joe Montana – he’s on there. Four Super Bowls. gotta put him on there. Then Peyton Manning would probably be on there for me.”

“It’s probably between Dan Marino and John Elway, and I don’t know who that fourth one is. I’m gonna give it to Elway just because he has the rings.”

“But Marino, if you look at the stats, dude, his first season – 48 touchdowns in that era? Best quarterback season in history. I don’t care what anyone says.”

It’s hard to argue with Mahomes’ list, although out of humility, he probably excluded himself from the list. On a layperson’s Mount Rushmore, Mahomes is more than likely to factor into consideration.

Mahomes making strong GOAT case
Patrick Mahomes is still very young in his NFL career. But it’s hard to argue that he is one of the most accomplished quarterbacks in NFL history.

With three Super Bowl rings and MVPs, two NFL MVPs, and an NFL Offensive Player of the Year award under his belt, there is no denying his credentials.

Last month’s Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles will do little to discredit Mahomes’ legacy. If anything, the loss might be the motivation for him to come back and win a fourth Super Bowl.

Realistically, Mahomes is competing with Tom Brady to be the greatest to ever do it. In that race, the Chiefs’ quarterback has some way to go.
