Meghan Markle planning huge surprise for Prince Harry’s 40th birthday
Prince Harry will mark his 40th birthday on Sunday as Meghan Markle is said to be pulling out the stops to mark the occasion at home in California
Prince Harry is set to hit the big 4-0
Meghan Markle is reportedly set to pull out the stops for Harry’s milestone birthday this weekend.
Prince Harry is turning 40 with a huge bash planned in Montecito, California, for the big day on Sunday, reports have said. And while the Sussexes will hardly be expecting immediate family to be jetting across the Pond to join the celebrations, they are still planning to mark the occasion with friends and their two children Archie, 5, and Lilibet, 3.
On top of the huge party planned, Harry is also set to undertake a special trip. According to Page Six, Harry will enjoy a break in the mountains with some of his closest friends after the party.

The celebrations are to precede Harry’s first solo trip to New York City later this month where he’s set to appear for a number of engagements close to his heart. While the Duke is believed to now at least be on speaking terms with his father, his rift with brother Prince William has no end in sight.
The pair were both seen at the same event last month when Harry flew over for the funeral of their uncle, Lord Robert Fellowes – their mother’s brother by marriage. Although standing just feet apart at the memorial in Snettisham, Norfolk, witnesses told how William and Harry did not speak and were even practically ‘back to back’ at at point during the wake.
William stopped speaking to his brother following the release of a tell-all Netflix docuseries and Harry’s follow-up memoir, Spare. It’s understood neither one has spoken to one another since the death of Queen Elizabeth two years ago.
Although traditionally only working members of the royal family are given a public birthday greeting, the late Queen did set a precedent that non-working family members can receive a birthday message publicly on birthdays that end with 0, such as milestones like a 40th.
This means the prince could receive a public royal birthday greeting this year, which would be the first since 2021 when Queen Elizabeth II wished her grandson a happy birthday. This was her last message to the Duke as she died a week before his birthday in 2022.
