King Charles has been praised by royal fans for sending Harry birthday wishes.
Royal fans have claimed it is “wonderful” to see Prince Harry acknowledged by his father on his 40th birthday, despite concerns the Firm would snub the Prince during his milestone celebration.
In a thoughtful post on the King and Queen Camilla’s official X account, King Charles wished Harry a happy birthday on his birthday, Sunday, September 15.
The post read: “Wishing The Duke of Sussex a very happy 40th birthday today!”
Royal fans have flocked to social media to express their delight at the bold gesture made by King Charles. X user, @ColemanPhillipa, wrote: “Wow. Ok, well, good on you for reaching out and being the good guys.”
Another fan, @Molomolo943395 added: “Happy Birthday Harry! So wonderful to see him acknowledged.”
Whereas, @Samara_Jacob called the post a “pure class act”, adding “God bless the Royal Family and the Wales”.
In the loving picture, a smiling and laughing Prince Harry is wearing a light grey suit jacket, white shirt, along with his signature bracelets – and he is caught grinning off camera. The picture is also accompanied by an emoji of a pink birthday cake.
The Duke of Sussex quit life as a working member of the Royal Family in 2020 and has since carried out a number of bombshell interviews about the monarchy, along with releasing his own memoir Spare, detailing intimate events within the Firm.
This in turn, created rifts within the family, with many royal fans believing the Prince “betrayed” the royals and therefore, does not deserve such a public birthday greeting.
On X, fans have also been quick to criticise the post. One person wrote: “Don’t even bother doing this, he’s betrayed you all so many times! He doesn’t deserve your well wishes.”
Royal fans were also confused as to why Harry was being sent well wishes on the Royal Family social media channels when he is no longer a senior working member.
One said: “I thought that only working Royals get public birthday wishes? So you can wish Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie and other non-working Royals a Happy Birthday too, as of now.”

No other members of the Royal Family have yet wished the Duke a happy birthday today.
Last year, King Charles declined to publicly celebrate Harry’s 39th birthday. The royals’ silence came after Harry released his memoir Spare, which blasted his family – including William, Kate and Camilla.
The Prince is set to celebrate the big day in California with his wife Meghan Markle, 43, and their two children, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3.
Rumours are swirling that afterwards Harry will be jetting off with his pals for a boys-only escapade and he will invite a number of A-list pals.
