Whilst the Middleton sisters are known for having a strong bond, during their school days they were known to be quite different to one another.
Kate, Princess of Wales, transferred schools at the very young age of 14 where she left behind a difficult experience of alleged bullying. Kate arrived scarred from her experiences, lanky and shy to her new school in the countryside of Wiltshire. As Kate quietly found her place, her younger sister Pippa, often described as more outgoing, quickly established herself as a standout among her peers. Pippa Middleton, who followed her sister to Marlborough, was known for her confidence and lively personality, Pippa won an all-rounder scholarship to the school and became captain of the hockey team reported the Daily Mail.
Classmates often remarked on the contrast between the two sisters, with Pippa being the more social and attention-loving sibling. Pippa was known to be lively and loved being the centre of attention, and she thrived both in academics and sports, unlike Kate who was softer and more reserved demeanour. Pippa was said to be a force to be reckoned with.
Despite being different there wasn’t any ill-will between the two siblings. Their housemistress, Ann Patching, later commented on the dynamic between the sisters, saying, “Pippa was sharper academically and good at everything, but Catherine never seemed to mind.” Instead of competing with each other, the sisters complimented one another and their bond only grew during their time at school. They formed part of a close-knit trio with their friend Alice St John Webster, and the three were inseparable supporting each other through the highs and lows of boarding school life.
Whilst Pippa was the one who stood out in their school days, it was Kate who would later captivate the world and has done who, Kate Middleton is the future Queen of England and much loved by million around the world. Despite Pippa’s popularity, neither sister strayed into trouble—both were known for their sensible approach to teenage life, avoiding drinking or mischief.
The bond between Kate and Pippa, forged during these pivotal school years, remains strong until this very day. Their shared experiences at Marlborough, from sporting successes to navigating friendships, shaped them both and it’s clear that the Middleton sisters have always been each other’s greatest allies supporting each other through life’s biggest moments from weddings to Kate’s recent sickness.
