President Donald Trump was asked if he would consider pardoning Sean “Diddy” Combs if the music mogul is convicted at his federal sex trafficking trial.
Trump was asked during a press briefing, ABC News reported.
“I haven’t seen him, I haven’t spoken to him for years,” Trump said. “I don’t know. I would certainly look at the facts. If I think someone was mistreated it wouldn’t matter whether they like me or don’t.”
The reporter who asked the question prefaced it by saying Trump had previously considered Combs a friend in 2012, before Trump first ran for president and before the Bad Boy Records founder was in the legal trouble he is now currently in.

Trump said he had not been formally asked about a pardon but noted that, “I know they’re thinking about it. I think people have been very close to asking.”
Combs is charged with sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution in the Southern District of New York.
If convicted, Combs could potentially face up to life in prison.
