With the Super Bowl fast approaching, game picks and predictions are pouring in for the highly anticipated clash between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles in New Orleans on Sunday night.
One of the latest predictions came from legendary coach Lou Holtz, who shared his breakdown of the game and who he believes will emerge victorious.
“It should be a great game. There’s no doubt about it. This is the type of game you want to sit back, watch, and enjoy. After all the analyzing, thinking about it, and listening to all the experts, I’ve come to the conclusion that my pick is the Kansas City Chiefs because of Patrick Mahomes.”
Holtz, widely known for his multiple stints in college football, is most famous for his tenure with Notre Dame, where he led them to a national championship in 1988. However, Holtz also had a brief period in the NFL in 1976 when he coached the New York Jets.
His coaching career dates back to 1968, when he was an assistant at Ohio State, contributing to the team’s national title under head coach Woody Hayes. He later became a head coach at William & Mary, eventually leading to a 33-year head coaching career before transitioning into a career as a sports analyst.
His deep knowledge of the game is evident, and Holtz highlighted Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City coaching staff as the key reasons he’s picking the back-to-back Super Bowl champions to emerge victorious. He believes the Chiefs’ leadership and talent will be crucial as they aim to make history by becoming the first team to win three consecutive Lombardi Trophies.
