JUST IN!!! Donald Trump’s one simple instruction to US officials if Iran try to kill him
Donald Trump has given US officials one simple instruction should Iran plot his assassination, it has been revealed, issuing the order long before ordering the attacks on three Iranian nuclear sites over the weekend.
Fordow, Natanz and Esfahan were bombed on Saturday in a dramatic escalation in the years-long effort to prevent Tehran from acquiring a nuclear weapon.
Addressing the nation alongside vice president JD Vance, secretary of state Marco Rubio, and defense secretary Pete Hesgeth, Trump remarked: “Our objective was the destruction of Iran’s nuclear enrichment capacity and a stop to the nuclear threat. Tonight, I can report to the world that the strikes were a spectacular military success.
“Iran’s key nuclear enrichment facilities have been completely and totally obliterated. If peace does not come quickly, we will go after those other targets with precision, speed and skill.”
Since the attacks, fears have been growing stateside and beyond of Iran’s potential retaliation. One of those being an attempt on the President’s life, but this isn’t the first time Iran has been linked to threats made against Trump.
During his first administration in 2020, Trump ordered a drone strike near Baghdad International Airport which killed Qassem Soleimani, the commander of the elite Quads Force with Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Cords. The strike ignited fierce reactions across the region with officials branding it an act of international terrorism.
Four years later, US intelligence had confirmed they’d collected evidence they believed showed Tehran was seeking ways to kill then-candidate Trump.
Last September, Trump confirmed himself there “were big threats made to (his) life by Iran”, though neither of two attempts made last year have been linked to Iranian activity. One month earlier, a Pakistani national with ties to Iran was accused of attempting to carry out a murder-for-hire plot of US government officials.
All these plots, and more, give Trump, his administration and the whole world enough food for thought as to how the country could react to the US bombings. But it turns out a plan is in place should it go that far. Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office in February, Trump explained just how the States would react if he was killed by the Iranian regime .
“If they did that, they would be obliterated,” he warned. “That would be the end. I’ve left instructions. If they do it, they get obliterated. There won’t be anything left.”
Israel’s prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu has used the assassination plot to fuel fears Trump is Iran’s top target, telling Fox News last week: “He killed Qasem Soleimani. He made it very clear, including now, ‘You cannot have a nuclear weapon, which means you cannot enrich uranium.’ He’s been very forceful, so for them, he’s enemy number one”
At the time, Trump claimed he had instructed his advisers to launch a devastating strike against Iran if the country managed to assassinate him. Simultaneously, he was signing an executive order directing his Cabinet to apply “maximum pressure” on Tehran, either through sanctions or by probing US-linked proxy groups.
The order further declared that Iran must be prevented from acquiring a nuclear weapon or intercontinental ballistic missiles. It also called for the dismantling of Iran’s terrorist networks and the containment of its expanding missile programme and other conventional and unconventional military capabilities.
