The former ‘Top Gear’ presenter, 61, will appear on Channel 4’s star-studded ‘Stand Up to Cancer’ programme this evening. He has also drawn attention for his Amazon Prime Video series ‘Clarkson’s Farm’. The show sees Jeremey get to grips with rural life and tend the land at his farm in the Cotswolds. While the presenter has no farming experience, the programme has been commended by some in the industry.

James Rebanks, a sheep farmer and author, heaped praise on the show as he was asked how it had affected farming’s reputation.
Speaking at the Cheltenham Literature Festival, Mr Rebanks was quoted by the Daily Telegraph at the weekend.
He said: “I can report back from within the farming community: they all loved that programme.
“They loved it. Ok, he’s clowning around and he plays to that audience, and a lot of farmers are lads that like machines and they would have watched Top Gear and all the rest of it.
“But what they really liked is [that] they have been frankly p***** off with Countryfile for about 30 years.

“Because the whole logic of Countryfile is that you can’t make a mainstream, prime-time TV programme about farming because farming is for a niche group of idiots.”
The farmer added that he liked the way that Jeremy “makes the working-class rural men the heroes” in the show.
Despite the show’s appeal, some of the locals in the Cotswolds are opposed to having Jeremy as their neighbour.
Over the years Jeremy has also courted controversy with his outspoken comments on a number of issues, including the Royal Family.
Jeremy has been critical of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, who left the Royal Family last year.
However, despite some of his disapproval, the presenter has also defended Meghan, as one of his unearthed columns for The Sun in 2018 shows.
Jeremy wrote the piece after two of Meghan’s Kensington Palace aides decided to leave her team of staff.
The presenter appeared to suggest some of the backlash against Meghan in the wake of her staff’s departures was misjudged.
He said: “I can’t understand why this is happening. You don’t know her. I don’t know her.
“So why have we all suddenly decided she should be mocked and pilloried for every little thing she ever does?
Suits: Meghan starred in US legal drama
“When all is said and done, she is just a very pretty girl who’s married a former Army officer who will never, ever be king.
“As a result, she will have less impact on your life than your postman’s wife.
“You don’t hate her. So why on earth should you hate Meghan?
“It’s ridiculous, cruel and heartless — and unless she proves me wrong by going around at night urinating on homeless people, it needs to stop.”

Amid the fallout from the interview, Jeremy criticised Meghan in another column for The Sun.
He called her a “silly little cable TV actress” in reference to her previous role in US legal drama, ‘Suits’.
