Dua Lipa reveals she has cancelled an upcoming concert over safety concerns: 'It truly pains me'

The singer, 29, was due to perform in Jakarta, Indonesia on November 9 as part of the Asian leg of her Radical Optimism tour.

But in a statement shared on Friday, the hitmaker confirmed her show would not be going ahead and said it ‘truly pains’ her.

She wrote: ‘I am heartbroken to share that I won’t be able to perform in Jakarta this Saturday, November 9.

‘I am there in your amazing country and ready to perform, but I am gutted to share that it has been determined that it is not safe for the performance to carry on due to safety issues with the staging.’

‘I was so looking forward to this night, and it truly pains me that we cannot perform for you all, especially after such a long time since my last performance in Jakarta.

‘Refunds will be made from your point of purchase. I love you all and truly can’t wait to be back together in the same room with you singing and dancing our hearts out as soon as possible.’

Dua anounced her new global 2025 tour for her latest album Radical Optimism in September.

Following her electric Glastonbury set, she immediately sold out two consecutive nights at London’s iconic Wembley Stadium set for June 2025.

Dua has reached a new pinnacle in her career, with fan demand at an all-time high, and the star took to Instagram to tease there will be even more dates to come.

Sharing the news she wrote: ‘RADICAL OPTIMISM TOUR 2025 !! THEY SAID THEY ‘MISS 2022 DUA’ WELL I’LL BE HAULING ASS FOR THE FORESEEABLE AND I CAN’T WAIT TO BRING THIS SHOW TO YOU !!

‘~ sign up for presale access at dualipa.com/presale (link in bio) ~ general sale september 20th ~ more dates coming soon so watch this spaceee LET’S GO!!!!!!!!!’

After her Asian shows, the 2025 dates then begin March 20 in Melbourne, Australia at Rod Laver Arena, and include performances in Sydney, Auckland, Madrid, Hamburg, Paris, Amsterdam, London, Dublin.

She will then head to Toronto, Chicago, New York, Miami, Los Angeles, and many more before concluding in Seattle on October 16 at Climate Pledge Arena.

It comes after a source told The Sun: ‘[Dua’s] last tour was as good as sold out, but it was an arena tour, to make the jump to stadiums is amazing, especially when she’s only on her third album’.

Earlier this year Dua discussed her newfound confidence as she spoke to Zane Lowe prior to the release of Radical Optimism.

She recalled: ‘Finally, I’m at a place in my career where I feel really confident. It took me so long to get to this place.

‘We’re doing the tell-all. This is my first time talking about anything, the album title, the record, the songs individually.

She added that writing songs is also a form of therapy for her: ‘By writing these songs, it’s a form of therapy for me.
