Could Drake and Jennifer Lopez actually have a love connection in 2024? Here’s what a source said regarding how he has to play his ‘cards right.

Jennifer Lopez pulled the plug on her marriage to Ben Affleck in August 2024. She filed the divorce papers after months of speculation that she and Affleck were on the rocks. After the separation news made its rounds in the media, Lopez said in an interview that she’s not looking to date currently. However, a source recently countered that Lopez is ready to get back out there. And Drake might have a shot at romance.

Drake and Jennifer Lopez have a romantic history. They shared photos that showed them kissing in 2016 and continued to spend time together in 2017. While they never appeared to make their romance official, they maintained a good relationship and seemed to have stayed friends through the years.

More recently, a source told In Touch Weekly that Drake reached out to Lopez following the news of her divorce from Ben Affleck. The insider alleged that she and Drake were having fun “sexting,” but Lopez wasn’t looking to get serious.

“As soon as she filed the papers, Drake reached out,” an insider said. “He was very sweet and told her what a fool Ben is for letting her get away, and then he quickly let her know he’s ready and willing to step in and satisfy her.”

In November 2024, another source told In Touch Weekly that Lopez now feels ready to date after Affleck. She stepped out on the red carpet for Unstoppable in Gucci heels and a bubble skirt, which the insider said showed Affleck “what he’s missing.”

“She’s also sending a message to all the men out there: She’s never looked — or felt — better, and she’s ready to date again,” the source added.

Lopez allegedly still doesn’t want to engage in a serious relationship, but the source added that “she is looking to have some fun. She’s on the prowl again.”

This might leave the door open for Drake to make his flirty texts with Lopez mean something more. “Drake has always had a thing for J.Lo,” the source continued. “And if he plays his cards right, who knows? Maybe he can finally get her.”

“He’s not only a sexy guy,” the source claimed, “but it’s great for her image to be dating the hottest rapper in the game.”

Time will tell whether Jennifer Lopez and Drake rekindle their flame. Professional matchmaker Amy Laurent warned Fox News Digital that Lopez should steer clear of dating musicians and athletes, as she’s dated them in the past. Laurent thinks Lopez is better suited for a business “powerhouse.”

“She’s not one to change, so her ideal match would be someone who can embrace her flamboyant tastes while truly loving and supporting who she is at her core,” the matchmaker said. “I’m not loving the idea of another musical artist or athletes. Instead, I think she’d be better suited with a powerhouse in the business world.”
