Buckingham Palace in major update involving Kate Middleton

Kate Middleton is set to join royals at two Remembrance Day events this weekend, Buckingham Palace has announced. The Princess of Wales, 42, who confirmed in September that she has now completed her preventative chemotherapy and is focusing on staying cancer free, will attend the Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall on Saturday and the Remembrance Sunday service at the Cenotaph.

A statement said: “Members of the Royal Family will attend the annual Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall. His Majesty The King became Patron of the Royal British Legion earlier this year.

“The Festival will be attended by His Majesty The King, The Prince and Princess of Wales, The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, The Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, and The Duke of Kent.”
The Palace added: “The King and Members of the Royal Family will attend the annual Remembrance Day Service at The Cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday. The Prince and Princess of Wales, The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, The Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, and The Duke of Kent will also attend the Service.”

The announcement comes as Kate returns to public duties following her cancer treatment. It will be the first time that Kate, who revealed her cancer diagnosis in March, will have carried out two consecutive days of public engagements since the start of the year.

She addressed her recovery in a video message posted in September, saying that she’s “looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements”, but added that she will taking “each day as it comes”.

It comes after Prince William spoke candidly about the tumultuous period his family has faced following his father King Charles and wife Kate’s cancer diagnoses. Speaking of his difficult year, he said: “Honestly? It’s been dreadful. It’s probably been the hardest year in my life.”

He added: “So, trying to get through everything else and keep everything on track has been really difficult. But I’m so proud of my wife, I’m proud of my father, for handling the things that they have done. But from a personal family point of view, it’s been brutal.”
