Stephen Curry, who has been married for more than a decade, has always made his relationship a priority. Curry recently became the first player in NBA history to make 4,000 career 3-pointers, making the ball a valuable keepsake.

When asked why he gave the game ball from his latest milestone performance to his wife, Ayesha Curry, the Golden State Warriors star had a thoughtful response.

Ayesha Curry Was Unable To Witness Stephen Curry’s Record
Stephen became the NBA’s all-time 3-point leader on Dec. 14, 2021, passing Ray Allen at Madison Square Garden with his 2,974th 3-pointer. Since then, he has added more than 1,000 makes from distance to his total.

Stephen explained that Ayesha wasn’t in attendance for that record-setting moment, so he wanted to make sure she was part of this milestone.

“She wasn’t in New York for the record, 2,974. So it was cool that for the 4,000 she was here,” he said. “She got the responsibility of making sure the ball gets home. Just the idea, like you said, we’ve been all together for a very long time.”

The star point guard also remembered to thank coach Steve Kerr and the rest of Golden State’s management for allowing his family to be a part of the on-court and off-court activities.

With Curry surpassing 4,000 3-pointers, the question becomes whether he can reach 5,000 before his career ends. While it seems unlikely, another 1,000 3s over the next three or four seasons is possible if he stays healthy as he has made 250+ 3-point shots in 11 of his last 13 seasons.

Regardless of whether he reaches that milestone, Curry has already secured his legacy as the greatest shooter in NBA history.
