Breaking news:Fans React to Post Malone “Throwing Shade” at the Kansas City Chiefs During His Tailgate Concert…see more
Many NFL fans believe that referees give the Kansas City Chiefs a little more leeway than other teams. The belief is so popular that memes calling officials the team’s MVP and an AI-generated photo of Patrick Mahomes kissing a ref make the rounds nearly every time the team takes the field. Post Malone got in on the fun during his pre-Super Bowl concert earlier today (February 9).
Malone took the stage just outside of the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana this afternoon. He worked through some of his biggest hits, getting the tailgate crowd amped for the big game. He even threw a little shade at the Chiefs during the show. “I wrote this song about the Chiefs and the referees,” he told the crowd as his band played the opening notes of “I Had Some Help.”
Fans React to Post Malone’s Kansas City Chiefs Joke
Fans watching Post Malone’s Tailgate Concert on YouTube took to social media to react to his “I Had Some Help” intro.
One fan quoted the intro and added, “That’s my crazy kid.”
“Post Malone a savage introducing ‘I Had Some Help’ as a song he wrote about the Chiefs and the refs,” another fan wrote, adding an eagle emoji to their post.
“Even Post Malone calling out the Chiefs and the refs HAHAHAHA,” another fan tweeted.
Another viewer opined that Malone’s “shade towards the chiefs” was “so good,” punctuating their take on the joke with a pair of crying laughing emojis.
More fans chimed in calling Malone a “savage” and a “legend.” At the same time, no one jumped to defend the Chiefs. Maybe Kansas City fans were just busy doing something else before the big game.
After he finished playing “I Had Some Help,” Malone assured the fans that he didn’t mean anything by the joke. He told them he made the joke in “good taste” before moving on with the performance. This makes perfect sense. After all, Malone doesn’t have a dog in the fight today. Earlier in the show, he let everyone know that he believed the Dallas Cowboys should be playing in the Super Bowl.
