Breaking!!! Ben Affleck reveals real reason he’s not ready to quit acting and switch to directing…
Ben Affleck has lifted the lid on the real reason why he’s not ready to give up acting completely and switch over to directing full-time.
In an interview with British GQ, the 52-year-old Hollywood star dished on his future plans in the entertainment industry. While Ben is famed for his many incredible on-screen roles, the father of three admitted that his true interest and passion lies behind the camera.
And while Ben has already had the chance to direct a number of successful films including Air (2023), The Town (2010), Argo (2012), Gone Baby Gone (2007), and more – he is not ready to give up acting just yet. Speaking on his decision to not step into filmmaking full-time, he admitted that his job as a dad comes first and foremost.
He told the news outlet: “It’s so consuming. The one regret I have about all the movies that I’ve directed is the amount of time it’s taken me away from my kids. I love making art. I loved making The Town. But I was away from my kids for long periods of time.”

The Gone Girl star continued: “There’s little chunks that I missed, and that doesn’t feel good. And I think part of what’s great about this Artists Equity job [the production company he co-founded with Matt Damon], part of why I love it, is because I’m in LA. When we’re done at 2:30, I’m going to go, and I’ll be home at 3:45 when my kids get off the bus. And I’m able to construct a life that does that. And that means more to me than any of it. That makes me happier.”
The former Sexiest Man Alive is a father of two children including his 19-year-old daughter Violet Anne, 16-year-old daughter Seraphina Rose, and 13-year-old son Samuel. The former Good Will Hunting star co-parents his three kids with his ex-wife actress Jennifer Garner following their divorce which was finalized in October of 2018.

And while he and Jennifer have no intentions of rekindling their romance post-Jennifer Lopez divorce, the pair share a close friendship and perfect co-parenting relationship. Speaking on his dynamic with the 13 Going on 30 star, Ben shared: “I’m really lucky that I have a really good co-parent and partner in Jennifer Garner, the kids’ mom, who’s wonderful and great and we work together well. It’s more of a headache than anything else and there certainly are worse things.”
