Beyoncé couldn’t be more proud of her 12-year-old daughter Blue Ivy as she takes on the role of Kiara in Mufasa: The Lion King, while the singer reprises her voiceover role as Nala.

In a behind-the-scenes clip of the mother-daughter duo recording their lines for the upcoming live-action Disney film shared by Good Morning America on Tuesday, Dec. 10, the musician, 43, gets emotional as she raves over her little girl’s hard work on the movie.

The clip shows the pair seen side-by-side in the recording booth. “Don’t stare at me,” Blue quips to her mom.

“I can’t help it, you’re just too beautiful, girl,” the proud mom says. “Imma be right here closing my eyes.”

While chatting with the news outlet, the 12-year-old says, “If I had told my younger self that I was in a movie, I would never believe myself.” In response, Beyoncé sweetly praises her daughter, saying, “Well, you are, girl. You are.”

The “Texas Hold ‘Em” singer begins to cry as she tells the cameras, “Seeing Blue as Kiara and hearing her voice come out of that character — give me a second because I can’t believe that’s my baby… That’s so amazing. It was really hard to focus and do my job after that. I was like, ‘Wait, hold up, guys, y’all gotta give me a second. I have to digest that.’ I’m so proud of her.”

Blue calls her experience working on the film “amazing,” adding that “everybody that’s a part of this is so helpful and supportive.”

“I feel like this is just a great experience for me, and I’m really happy for girls that look like me all around the world [who] are able to watch this movie and hear and see themselves in it,” the pre-teen says.

Beyoncé also shares her pride for Blue and her “natural” voice acting abilities, sharing, “She did such a beautiful job, and I can’t believe how natural she is. I’m just proud of you. I’m so proud of you and I can’t believe how big and grown up you are.”

“And I’m proud that she’s gonna represent so many young brown girls around the world,” she adds. “Nobody’s prouder than Mommy.”

Beyoncé’s 7-year-old son Rumi then sweetly pops into the screen holding a director’s clapboard. “And cut!” he exclaims as he claps the board together.

On Instagram, Beyoncé continued to praise her “gorgeous baby girl” while sharing a few photos from the movie’s premiere on Tuesday, Dec. 9 of Blue in her strapless gold gown. “This is your night. You worked hard and you did such a beautiful job as the voice of Kiara. Your family could not be prouder. Keep shining,” she wrote.

Beyoncé, Blue, and dad Jay-Z made a public appearance at the movie’s premiere at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles one day after the rapper publicly denied a rape allegation made against him.

Jay-Z, 55, has been accused of raping a 13-year-old girl 24 years ago in a civil lawsuit filed in October by a woman identified only as Jane Doe. After first listing Sean “Diddy” Combs as a defendant, the suit has since been amended to include Jay-Z (whose real name is Shawn Carter).

In one section of a denial statement shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Dec. 8, the rapper said the “heinous” claims will affect his family, which includes Blue Ivy, as well as his and wife Beyoncé’s twins, Rumi and Sir, 7.

“My wife and I will have to sit our children down, one of whom is at the age where her friends will surely see the press and ask questions about the nature of these claims, and explain the cruelty and greed of people,” he wrote.
