Another set back for the Sussexes’brand
Royal Family: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle face huge blow after agent’s ‘failure’
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are in a tough spot after the duchess’s lifestyle brand was hit with yet another obstacle.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s global brand was hit with an obstacle
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were hit with yet another blow regarding their global brand after the duchess allegedly landed herself in hot water over American Riviera Orchard’s (ARO) logo, reports have claimed.
The Duchess of Sussex faced a huge obstacle just days ago after the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) turned down an application regarding the name of her lifestyle brand as “the applied-for mark is primarily geographically descriptive”, according to a filling.
Now the office has raised questions over the way the letter ‘O’ for Orchard is drawn on the logo, the Mail reports.
In something called a “non-final action” document, USPTO wrote that the application has been reviewed by an examining attorney and says the “applicant must submit an amended description of the mark that agrees with the mark on the drawing” and instead suggested a more accurate description of the current image.
The outlet’s report added that USPTO’s latest refusal regarding ARO’s name revealed a series of problems regarding the brand’s filling, including the duchess’s “agents’ apparent failure to sign the correct documents”.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex left the UK in 2020 for California, saying they wanted a different upbringing for their children, away from the spotlight.
Since their departure, the couple has frequently voiced their criticisms of the Royal Family in various American media outlets.
Royal commentator Neil Sean suggests that Princess Anne foresaw Meghan’s struggle to adapt to royal life when she advised her to treat her role as a “job” rather than a celebrity status.
Princess Anne “knew Meghan Markle had a short shelf-life.
Prince Harry and his wife Meghan’s life away from royal duties across the pond is well underway.
It’s said that a week from Prince Harry turning 40 next Saturday, that he’s well settled into the LA lifestyle with Meghan and their two children Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three.
But thanks in part to a recent return visit to the UK by the Duke of Sussex, tongues have been wagging about the prospect of a return to Britain for the prince – and of a possible re-start of the royal duties that he and his left behind after they stood down as working members of The Firm in 2020.
Regadless of the prince’s next step, what is clear is that his native UK will always hold a special place in in his heart – and it could just be a tie that he can never properly cut.
He put that very sentiment into words himself in his bombshell autobiography Spare that was released in January last year – and is set for a re-release in paperback format this October.
Has Prince Harry hinted that he could make his way back to the UK?
Recently, Meghan has started investing in sustainable, ethical and female-led initiatives such as Cesta Collective, a brand whose signature basket bags are handcrafted by women in Rwanda who are paid 500-700 percent above the national average salary.
Meghan has also invested in Colombian designer Johanna Ortiz whose elevated looks she showed off during a recent tour in Colombia. But the Duchess is trying to go even further with her look, wanting to “reinvent” her whole image.
This is where celebrity stylist Jamie Mizrahi, who has styled the likes of Ariana Grande, Jennifer Lawrence and Adele, comes into the fold.
