Andy Reid to throw out ceremonial first pitch at Kansas City Royals Opening Day game less than two months after third winning Super Bowl as Chiefs head coach
Kansas City made consecutive World Series trips in 2014 and 2015, winning a title in the latter season.
Since winning the World Series, the Royals have not made the postseason.
Reid has been the Chiefs head coach since 2013 and got to see up close the Royals rise to champions and their struggles since.
The Chiefs have played in six straight conference championship games, losing in regulation in none of them.
Next year, the Chiefs will attempt to become the first team in the Super Bowl era to win three straight NFL championships. No team has done it since the 1965-1967 Green Bay Packers
