JUST IN:Three shocking Super Bowl predictions, including a third quarterback making an impact…see more
Patrick Mahomes is heading into yet another Super Bowl, but even a similar premise can have a wildly different plot.
It’s almost that time. The Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles are both in New Orleans and have been for some time. After a week of practice and experiencing the barrage of pressure unlike anything else in sports, either the Philadelphia Eagles or Kansas City Chiefs will bring home the Lombardi.
Somehow, it is fitting to have Andy Reid’s shot at a three-peat come against his former team. However, with entirely different staff members between then and now, Reid will essentially only be able to take revenge against the owner of the team, Jeffrey Lurie.
With Andy Reid’s retirement date only getting closer, this might also be his last shot to add a ring to his collection. As such, the pressure to take full advantage of the moment is immense.
Of course, former Eagles star Brian Westbrook is saying what many are thinking: as long as his health is good, Andy Reid should continue coaching. That said, Reid’s future is a question for another day. Today, the goal is simple: beat the Eagles. The questions are, will they and how many surprises will happen along the way? Here’s a look at three potentially shocking turns in the game.

#3 – Chiefs do their own Tush Push, and it works
Since the Eagles put the league on notice about their unstoppable play on the goalline and in situations with one yard to go, teams have tried and failed to copy the play. The Chiefs, in the biggest game of their lives, will use the Eagles’ medicine against them with no warning.
The team will execute a Tush Push to perfection as the retired Jason Kelce had relayed the secret to Travis Kelce who then told it to Andy Reid. The implications of the move darken the clouds over the AFC to a lightless black. The camera cuts to a stunned Nick Sirianni after the successful play.
#2 – Carson Wentz throws a touchdown and stays in the game
Carson Wentz, who has spent his own time watching the Philly Special with his own eyes, gets an opportunity to execute it. Mahomes comes out for a play and Wentz finally gets to play in a Super Bowl. His play? The Philly Special.
The Chiefs use the Eagles against themselves, but they add a wrinkle to the play, revealing a crafty Philly Special 2.0. Wentz then plays the first snap of the following series, raising questions about Mahomes. However, just when questions turn into fans demanding answers, Mahomes returns to the lineup.
#1 – Eagles pull off a Mahomesian comeback, rip off 21 unanswered points in fourth quarter
Over the last several Super Bowl wins, Patrick Mahomes has fallen into a pattern. In every win, he has needed to overcome a late deficit. This time, the Eagles will be faced with a 14-point deficit going into the fourth quarter.
Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley will get the team back in the lead in the game’s final quarter, delivering on a late implosion from the Chiefs as the pressure gets to be too much.
