Super Bowl ticket prices crash again just days before with Chiefs ‘fatigue’ and New Orleans issue causing concern
SUPER Bowl prices are continuing to plummet as the big game approaches.
The drop in prices has fans and experts alike wondering if New Orleans is capable of hosting any more Super Bowls.
Ticket prices are continuing to plummet for Super Bowl LIX
The falling ticket prices raise the question of whether or not New Orleans can host any more Super Bowls
According to Gametime, the get-in price for the Super Bowl has fallen to $2,500.
Over the last week and a half, ticket prices have consistently fallen to record lows.
Ticket prices hit $3,740 on Wednesday, $4,074 on Tuesday, $4,339 on Monday, $5,860 last Friday, and $6,375 last Monday.
The most expensive tickets for the game are down to $17,626, a significant drop from $58,327 per ticket last Friday.
In comparison, last year’s cheapest tickets before kickoff were $8,764.
The most expensive tickets sat at $37,620.
Even the tickets to Super Bowl LVIII in 2023 saw higher prices than this year’s game.
That year saw the same teams as this year, the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs, but the get in price was much higher at $6,264.
The most expensive tickets in that game were $33,042 each.
New Orleans is hosting its 11th Super Bowl this year, but the allure of the city has started to wear off over the years.
In the first 36 iterations of the Super Bowl, New Orleans hosted nine of those games.
However, the city has only taken on two more since 2002.
The biggest issue for New Orleans as a host city is its lack of accommodations for fans.
There simply aren’t enough hotel rooms for every fan, causing prices to skyrocket higher than ticket prices for the Super Bowl.
“Hotel inventory is so incredibly scarce,” Deanna Forgione Carey, an On Location general manager, told Front Office Sports.
