King Charles and Queen Camilla Are Planning a New Family Addition
King Charles and Queen Camilla have plans to expand their family at Buckingham Palace. As the British monarch made a solo appearance on Friday, Nov. 22 at this year’s Royal Variety Performance amidst his wife’s lingering health issues, he casually mentioned that he and Camilla are planning on getting a new dog, per Express.co.uk.
While chatting with the Royal Variety Performance hosts Alan Carr and Amanda Holden, the king reportedly revealed that he and Camilla are hoping to become pet parents once again, just days after the death of the queen’s beloved rescue Jack Russell terrier, Beth.
After their brief exchange with the monarch, Carr told Holden that he’d never met the king before, telling his co-host, “It’s the first time I met him and he was so sweet and he apologized for [the Queen] not being here.” The palace issued a last-minute statement revealing that Camilla would be missing the Royal Albert Hall event due to ongoing recovery for a chest infection.
Holden agreed, calling the monarch “very sweet” while revealing that they’d sent along well wishes for Camilla’s recovery. “Then we mentioned Her Majesty and we wished her well and I gave condolences for the doggy,” she said. “I felt for her, I really felt for her when that happened.”
