A body language has pinpointed the exact moment Prince William showed “sincerity” and “calmness” as he gushed about wife Kate Middleton.
The Prince of Wales outlined his ambition to “change the world for good, one solution at a time” at the Earthshot Prize Award 2024 in Cape Town, South Africa on Wednesday. William celebrated the winners who want to protect or improve climate and conservation efforts across the globe.
But the prince took a moment to praise his wife who continues to recover following her cancer treatment. He said Kate had been “amazing this whole year.” Kate did not travel with her husband to South Africa and would instead watch the awards at home. William added: “I know she’ll be really keen to see tonight be a success.”
Speaking on behalf of Betfair Casino, Stanton said: “When William speaks about his wife Kate during an interview, his eyes immediately go down. This means he’s sensitively processing the question. He displays a warm smile and nods to cement his sincerity. He presented himself with a new calmness.”
William also appeared to juggle multiple responsibilities, although there were some telling sighs where his inner strength was tested. Stanton added: “If you compare William’s speech at last year’s Earthshot ceremony to the most recent, this is clearly a man who has a plethora of responsibilities.

“He is still his charming self on stage and seems to believe in his inner strength – but at times you can see he has a clenched jaw, and his eyebrows are pulled together. During his speech, William’s tone is loud, so verbally, he appears to be his usual confident self. However, his non-verbal behaviour suggests a level of uncertainty.
“His arms are crossed in front of his body, and that can be an unconscious thing we do to protect ourselves when we feel overwhelmed. But he doesn’t seem to be trying to hide these emotions. He showed an authentic approach to this appearance.”
William set up the environmental project in 2020 with the aim “to champion the spirit of ingenuity that put a man on the moon within 10 years.” He previously revealed the idea had come to him to Africa two years earlier when he was stopped in his tracks by the majesty of an endangered white rhino.
