Kate Middleton’s children have ‘proud’ reaction to ‘important milestone’ in cancer recovery
Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, is preparing for an important milestone in her cancer recovery – and her children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis will be ‘so proud’

Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis are all set to return to the halls of Lambrook School, as the October half term wraps up. With Christmas just around the corner, there’s heaps of excitement in the air for the young royals, especially with their mother, the Princess of Wales, looking forward to a special event on the calendar.

The year has been a tough one for the Princess, following an abdominal surgery and a cancer diagnosis. Nonetheless, she is poised to round off the year with the cherished return of her annual festive singalong, ‘Together At Christmas’.

Royal enthusiasts are abuzz after the Court Circular hinted at clandestine meetings involving the Princess to discuss plans for the concert’s fourth edition.

Children and adults alike are said to be eagerly awaiting to see the Princess hosting her festive ceremony once more. OK! Magazine quoted Royal commentator Jennie Bond expressing, “Halloween, Bonfire night, Christmas – they all come in a bit of a rush at this time of year, but it’s an exciting time for children – and for parents who like to join in the fun with spooky decorations, huge bonfires fireworks, toasted marshmallows and, of course, Christmas carols.”

“This will obviously be a very special carol concert for Catherine and the whole family. They will be so proud to see her back taking a leading role in one of her very own projects, and I imagine that as many members of the Royal Family as possible will join her this year.”

Jennie further commented on the family’s feelings: “It will be a proud moment for William, and a joyful and reassuring one for the children. Mum is back, doing her thing. It won’t signal a return to royal duties for Catherine, but it will certainly be an important and hugely welcome milestone along her road to full recovery.”

Despite a challenging year battling cancer, the Princess is poised for a triumphant comeback at the fourth annual carol concert at Westminster Abbey in December. The service, usually aired on Christmas Eve after being recorded earlier in the month, has quickly become a much-anticipated Royal event and marks the official start of the festive season.

It unites several members of the Royal Family, including young royals like Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, to support Catherine and various charities. Each year brings a different theme.

The 2022 concert spotlighted the Princess’ musical talents and paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth II through the beloved storybook character, Paddington Bear.

Last year’s service had a particularly poignant theme that celebrated Kate’s impactful work in early childhood development. In a statement released ahead of the service, backed by the Royal Foundation, they extended thanks to “all those who work to support babies, young children and families in our communities across the U.K. and a celebration of the golden opportunity that the birth of a new baby brings.”

This sentiment aligned with the launch of Shaping Us, a campaign by the Princess focusing on the crucial early years of child development.

There were many touching highlights, including the Wales’ youngsters handing out Christmas cards to kids facing a tough holiday season, using a specially placed red postbox at the Abbey. The sight of Prince Louis, attending for the first time, glowing with joy as he recognised Jim Broadbent’s narration of Father Christmas’s letters was heartwarming, and spectators shared a laugh when he attempted to extinguish his sister Charlotte’s candle.

As we wait for details on this year’s event, there’s no doubt it hopes to shine a beacon of hope following a trying year. The concert has always marked a successful milestone for the Princess and her growing influence.

Jennie observed the boost in confidence that the event gives to Catherine. Speaking to OK!

last year, she said: “It has become an occasion when we see quite a large turnout of the Royal Family, which really marks the beginning of the royal Christmas. In a way I think the concert was the springboard for Kate to be seen as her own woman, launching solo projects and concentrating on causes and issues in which she’s personally invested.”

She added: “It’s one of those evenings when the rest of the royal family take a back seat. This is Kate’s baby, and Kate’s night. William always looks as if he is bursting with pride when his wife takes centre stage – which she now does with confidence.”
