The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have previously found it difficult to retain employees.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have found it difficult to retain key members of staff since stepping down as full time working Royals.

This week, Ashley Hansen, the Global Press Secretary and Head of Communications for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, announced she was standing down to launch her own public relations firm, Three Gate Strategies.

Hansen will continue to represent and advise the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who are said to be supportive of her move, with Meghan saying: “We are so proud of Ashley, especially as a female entrepreneur.”

However, she’s not the only one to step away from working with the Sussexes. Here are some of the others who have parted ways with Harry and Meghan.

Josh Kettler was appointed by Prince Harry as his chief of staff earlier this year, and it was said that he was the perfect man to “guide” Harry “through his next phase”.

Josh accompanied the couple during their three-day trip to Nigeria and was set to join them in Columbia. People Magazine understands both sides agreed the job was not the right fit, calling the parting of ways a “mutual decision”.

Bennett Levine joined Harry and Meghan’s team in April 2021 as co-ordinator for Archewell Productions. However, in January 2024, he moved into a new role as tracking executive at Cinetic Media, an American film financing and distribution company. A source told the Mail: “It’s a blow to the company [Archewell]. There’s no doubt about that.”

Fara Taylor joined Archewell’s team as head of marketing in March 2022, overseeing the three strands of Archewell Productions, Archewell Audio and Archewell Foundation. She left the Sussexes in April 2023, with her departure announced as the couple were said to have been planning to “streamline the company’s marketing arm.”

Rebecca Sananes was hired as head of audio in July 2021 to produce Meghan’s Spotify podcast Archetypes. Archetypes ran for just one season, releasing 12 episodes. In June 2023, it was confirmed the Spotify deal had ended and there would be no second series of Archetypes.

Mandana Dayani was employed as the Archewell chief operating officer employed to oversee growth strategy and day-to-day operations at the organisation, but her exit was confirmed in December 2022, just days before the couple’s Netflix documentary series was released.

Global press secretary Toya Holness joined Harry and Meghan in October 2020 in PR when they launched the Archewell Foundation and became known as “Meghan’s Shadow.” She eventually left the Sussexes in May 2022.

Former founding director of the Sussex Royal charity foundation Natalie Campbell left the Sussexes less than a year after joining them to become the chief executive of water company ‘Belu’.
