‘Set off alarm bells’: Prince William concerned about fate of Princess Diana’s jewellery given to Meghan Markle
Prince William is reportedly worried about the location of several of Princess Diana’s jewels that were given to Meghan Markle by Prince Harry.
Prince William is worried about the fate of several of Princess Diana’s jewels that were later given to Meghan Markle by Prince Harry, an insider has claimed.
The late Princess possessed a large private jewellery collection made up of pieces given to Diana by Prince Charles, foreign royalty and her last boyfriend Dodi Fayed as well as family heirlooms.
In total, Diana’s collection is worth about $20 million today and does not include pieces loaned to the royal by Queen Elizabeth II.
The late royal’s extensive jewellery was divided up between William and Harry following her death in 1997 who in turn have passed on pieces to their wives.

Princess Catherine was famously given Diana’s iconic sapphire engagement ring by William and later acquired Diana’s double drop sapphire earrings.
Meghan has also received several of Diana’s heirlooms, including an emerald cut aquamarine ring and her yellow gold Cartier Tank watch which the Duchess of Sussex continues to wear to this day.
When Meghan received an engagement ring from Harry in 2017, the piece reportedly included two diamonds from his late mother’s collection.
The two precious gemstones were set next to a stone from Botswana on a simple gold band, Harry revealed at the time.
Less than two years later, the engagement ring was slightly altered, with a thinner band reportedly being added in an “update” to reflect Markle’s taste.
Meghan is believed to have first shown off the new version at her second and final Trooping the Colour appearance in 2019.
Mysteriously, Meghan has not been seen wearing the ring since the Sussexes’ visit to Canada in February, with sources close to the Duchess of Sussex explaining the ring is “being fixed”.

However, William is reportedly concerned about the whereabouts of the jewels and has discreetly inquired about the ring through mutual friends.
“It’s safe to say it has set off alarm bells at the Palace,” a source told The Mirror newspaper on Tuesday.
“(Prince William’s) putting the word out through mutual friends that he wants to know what’s going on.
“Not knowing where they are is disturbing for William.”
