Staff reveal what it’s really like to work with Harry and Meghan after ‘terrible’ report
Prince Harry and particularly Meghan, Duchess of Sussex have been at the centre of toxic workplace allegations over the last two weeks, but many of their current and former staff have since come out in support of them.
The reports originated from an article by The Hollywood Reporter, with a source reportedly close the couple claiming, “Everyone’s terrified of Meghan,” believing the royal is the reason behind the high turnover of a number of high-level employees.
They alleged the former actress ‘belittles’ others while ignoring advice while Prince Harry is charming but an “enabler”. Together, it’s claimed they make poor decision-makers as they fleetingly change their minds.

Immediately after the report was published, one current employee posted a note on Instagram strongly defending the couple.
It led to a number of others also supporting them, with some employees that were named in the original report coming out to defend the pair in an interview with Us Weekly.
Josh Kettler, who was Harr’s chief of staff, raised eyebrows when he left the team after just three months in August.
Nonetheless, he maintains that he was ”warmly welcomed” by the couple and the team, adding that “They are dedicated and hardworking… It was impressive to witness.”
Former head of content Ben Browning, who was responsible for the couple’s Harry and Meghan documentary on Netflix, left when his contract expired in 2023.
He said the environment “was positive and supportive… we all continue to be friends. The narratives we’ve seen suggesting the contrary are untrue.”

The royal has been supported by her former colleagues.
The former president of Archewell Mandana Dayani – who took on the role for 18 months between 2021 to 2022 – fiercely defended the couple.
“Part of the profound injustice of having to speak publicly on this in light of these endless and damaging narratives is that so much of the kindness, mentorship, and support that Prince Harry and Meghan share with others happens quietly behind closed doors,” she said.
She recalls sitting on the floor of the couple’s kitchen and cold-calling senators as Meghan was feeding her daughter, Princess Lilibet.

They also visited Uvalde, Texas together after the tragic 2022 school shooting, with Dayal recalling, “For hours, [Meghan] sat in a room with grieving families, going one by one to each person – hugging them and crying with them,” she said about the couple who she now considers friends.
Other former and current employees described a healthy work environment, with Meghan remembering small passing details about her employees and following up and even creating personalised gift packs.
One current staffer shared that no one leaves the Sussex household empty-handed, saying, “Whenever staff goes to their house, they leave with a basket with fresh flowers, fresh fruit, fresh eggs.”
