Caitlin Clark smashes another WNBA record as superstar rookie scores career high in Fever game
Indiana Fever provide crucial Caitlin Clark update
Caitlin Clark is not slowing down this season. The Indiana Fever star scored a career-high 35 points alongside eight assists to lead her team to victory over the Dallas Wings on Sunday afternoon.
Her 35-point effort helped Clark set the WNBA rookie record for points in a season. Still with one game left in the regular season, she sits at 761 points.
The record did belong to Seimone Augustus with 744 points in 2006. That 18-year record now belongs to Clark with a chance to extend it further Thursday against the Washington Mystics.
Clark’s 329 assists this season are an all-time league record, rookie or not.
The victory over the Wings also clinched the No 6 seed for Indiana in the WNBA postseason, meaning it’ll matchup in the quarterfinals with the Connecticut Sun.

The Sun won three of the four regular-season matchups against the Fever, although Clark led her team to victory in the most recent game.
Connecticut has home-court advantage in the best-of-three series, with both the semifinals and finals being a best-of-five series.
Clark’s teammate Kelsey Mitchell added 30 points in the win with the duo having all but four of Indiana’s 16 3-pointers in the game.
Clark’s rookie season has been under a microscope, with her leading the Fever to a great second half of the season after beginning 1-8.
The Fever have a record of 19-11 since the beginning of June, spearheaded by a likely rookie-of-the-year campaign from Clark.
Now, it’s just a matter of how far Clark can extend her records before the playoffs begin.
