Kate Middleton’s Parents Attend Wimbledon as Organizers Still Hope She’ll Continue Tournament Tradition amid Cancer Treatment
The Princess of Wales usually goes to the tennis tournament and hands out awards — but she has not yet made an appearance this year
Kate Middleton has yet to make an appearance at Wimbledon, but her parents Carole and Michael Middleton are representing the family.
On Thursday, July 4, the Princess of Wales’ parents attended day four of the prestigious Grand Slam tournament. Her mother, Carole, 69, wore a long, high-neck floral dress paired with a white blazer, sunglasses and kitten heels, while her father Michael, 75, looked classically elegant in a navy blue suit jacket and yellow tie.
Princess Kate, 42, was not in attendance with her parents, as she continues undergoing chemotherapy amid her cancer diagnosis, which she shared with the world in March.
After she had a “planned abdominal surgery,” post-operative tests found that “cancer had been present,” she announced in an emotional personal video, adding that she was in “the early stages of” chemotherapy.
